How quickly can I get an appointment?
Most wellness visits can be booked within 1–3 days. Sick pets are usually seen the same day if you call before noon. For emergencies, walk in or call ahead — we always make room for urgent cases during open hours.
Do I need to be an existing patient to book?
Not at all — we're always welcoming new families. New patient appointments take about 45 minutes (vs. 30 for established patients) so we can get to know you and your pet properly. We'll request prior records once you book.
What's the best way to send records or photos?
Email Encinopetemergency@gmail.com with your pet's name in the subject. Existing patients can also message us through the Encino Pet Hospital app for HIPAA-compatible photo and chart sharing.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes — we never turn away an emergency. For non-urgent visits, calling ahead means you won't wait. We block out same-day appointments every day specifically for sick pets.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept all major pet insurance carriers — Trupanion, Healthy Paws, Nationwide, ASPCA, MetLife, and more. We process claims for you on the spot. Payment is due at the time of service and we'll handle the reimbursement paperwork.
Can I tour the hospital before booking?
Absolutely. We love showing families around. Call us to set up a brief 15-minute tour — we'll show you our exam rooms, surgery suite, separate cat ward, and the boarding side. Tours work best Tuesday–Thursday afternoons.
