Where we are

First, a clear picture of where we are.

We want to be upfront: we are not a Ventura clinic. We are at 17324 Ventura Blvd in Encino, in the San Fernando Valley.

The name of our street can be confusing when you search from Ventura, so please double check the address before you set out. From Midtown, Pierpont or East Ventura, take the Ventura Freeway east for about 50 to 60 minutes, traffic permitting. Free parking is behind the building.

For routine care, a vet close to home is usually the easiest choice. Ventura families come to us when they want advanced diagnostics, a second opinion or a surgery consultation, and are happy to drive for it.

Advanced care

What Ventura pets come to us for.

Most of the Ventura families we see are looking for answers that take more than a standard exam.

We offer a pet CT scan for complex cases, like nasal and sinus disease, ear disease, complex fractures, and chest and abdominal studies such as cancer staging. Our ultrasound and X-ray studies are read by a board-certified veterinary radiologist. We can also arrange endoscopy and start surgical planning with a specialty surgery consultation.

  • ✓Same-day urgent visits and walk-ins, 7 days a week
  • ✓Lab work with many results in under an hour
  • ✓Surgery including abdominal exploratory, foreign body removal, splenectomy and gastropexy
  • ✓Daytime hospitalization for fluids, monitoring and treatment
  • ✓Care for problems like breathing trouble, pancreatitis and lethargy
About critical care

Searching for a critical care vet in Ventura? Here’s how we fit.

We care for seriously ill pets during the day, but we are not a 24-hour hospital, and we won’t pretend to be.

We are open 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, every day including holidays. If your pet needs fluids, medication and close monitoring while we are open, our team handles it and will explain the plan for the evening before we close.

For a true emergency, distance matters. If your pet is struggling to breathe, has collapsed or is in severe pain, go to the closest open emergency hospital rather than driving an hour. After 7:30 PM, the nearest 24-hour emergency hospital is the right call. Our emergency page and symptoms guide can help you judge urgency.
